I didn’t plan to compare cushions this closely, but once I started switching between them, it became hard not to notice the little differences.
Both promise a matte finish, both sit nicely in a daily routine—but they don’t feel identical on the skin or in the way they wear through the day.
Here’s how they’ve been living in my makeup bag lately.
1. Wardah Colorfit Matte Cushion
This one feels familiar in the best way. From the first application, it gives that soft matte look that doesn’t try too hard. I remember using it on a humid afternoon, expecting it to slide off quickly—but it held up better than I thought. The coverage is buildable, which I appreciate.
I can keep it light for a more relaxed day or layer it a bit when I want a smoother finish. It doesn’t look overly flat either; there’s still a bit of life in the skin, which keeps it from feeling too heavy visually.
2. SKINTIFIC Perfect Stay Velvet Matte Cushion
This one gives a slightly different vibe. The finish leans more toward that velvety, almost blurred look. When I first used it, I noticed how it smooths everything out, like a soft filter but still natural enough to wear daily. It feels a bit more polished compared to the Wardah one.
The coverage builds faster, so I don’t need to go over the same area too many times. That said, I’ve learned to go in with a lighter hand—otherwise it can start to look a bit too perfected for a casual day.
Both cushions have earned their place, just in different ways. Wardah Colorfit Matte Cushion brings ease and softness, while SKINTIFIC Perfect Stay Velvet Matte Cushion leans into a smoother, longer-lasting finish. It’s less about choosing one over the other, and more about knowing which one fits the moment you’re in.
