Eyeshadow has always been one of those little details that can completely shift how I feel about my makeup. Some days I want something soft and barely there, other days I’m in the mood to play with color and depth.
Over time, I’ve tried different palettes, and two that stand out in very different ways are the Dior eye palette and the Hold Live eyeshadow palette. They sit on opposite ends of the spectrum, yet both bring something interesting to the table.

1. Dior Eye Palette

There’s something about opening a Dior palette that feels a bit like a ritual. The packaging alone already sets the tone—it’s sleek, weighted, and just feels expensive in your hands. When I first used it, what struck me wasn’t just the color story, but how refined everything looked on the skin. The shades tend to lean toward elegant, wearable tones—nothing too loud, but never boring either.
The texture is where it really shines. The powders feel smooth, almost creamy, and they glide on without much effort. Blending doesn’t take long, which is a relief on mornings when I don’t want to spend too much time fixing harsh edges.

2. Hold Live Eyeshadow Palette

Now, Hold Live feels like a completely different mood. The first time I tried it, I was honestly surprised by how playful it felt. The color options are often more vibrant and experimental, which makes it fun when I’m in the mood to try something outside my usual routine. The pigmentation is quite bold right from the first swipe. Sometimes I even have to remind myself to go in lightly because the color shows up quickly.
Using these two palettes almost feels like switching personalities. Dior is calm, refined, and dependable. Hold Live is energetic, bold, and a bit unpredictable in a fun way. One isn’t necessarily better than the other—they just fit different moments.
