Dark spots can be one of the slowest parts of my skincare routine to work on, so I prefer keeping my approach focused rather than layering too many products.
I’ve been drawn to formulas that target uneven-looking tone while still fitting comfortably into a simple routine. Two products that stand out to me are Topicals Faded and Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright.
1. Topicals Faded Brightening & Clearing Serum
Topicals Faded is the product I’d make the main step when focusing on the appearance of stubborn dark spots. The formula contains several brightening-focused ingredients, including tranexamic acid, niacinamide, and azelaic acid. I like that it takes a targeted approach instead of feeling like another basic hydrating serum. A small amount is enough for application, and I’d keep the rest of my routine fairly gentle around it.
2. Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright Cream-Serum
Indeed Labs Pepta-Bright has a cream-serum texture that makes it feel slightly different from a typical lightweight brightening serum. I like using it when I want to focus on a more even-looking complexion while adding some moisture at the same time. The formula is designed around brightening ingredients, making it a nice companion to a targeted routine. Its richer texture also works well when my skin is craving something more comfortable.
I’d keep the routine simple: cleanse, apply my chosen brightening treatment, moisturize when needed, and finish with sunscreen during the day. I wouldn’t feel the need to pile both products on every single time, especially while figuring out how my skin responds. Consistency matters more to me than having a complicated routine, and daily sun protection is an important part of keeping dark spots from becoming more noticeable.
