Post-breakout marks can be stubborn, so I prefer keeping my routine focused instead of throwing too many strong products at my skin.
My main goals are supporting a more even-looking complexion, keeping my skin comfortable, and protecting it from further sun exposure. Three products I like for that approach are Glow Recipe, Beauty of Joseon, and The Ordinary.
1. Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Brightening Treatment Serum
Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Brightening Treatment Serum is the product I reach for when dark-looking marks are my main concern. Vitamin C makes it a natural fit for a brightening-focused routine, and I like the serum format because it slips easily between cleansing and moisturizing. I prefer using it consistently rather than expecting one application to dramatically change the appearance of a mark.
2. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++ Sunscreen
Sunscreen plays a much bigger role in my routine when I’m trying to improve the appearance of post-breakout marks. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun has SPF50+ PA++++ protection, making it a morning staple for me. I apply enough to properly cover my face and reapply when needed, since brightening products make much more sense when daily sun protection is also part of the routine.
3. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% gives me another targeted option for an uneven-looking complexion. Its cream-like texture feels different from the watery serums I usually use, so I apply a modest amount and avoid piling several strong treatments on top. It fits especially well into a simple evening routine when I want to keep my skincare focused.
My approach is less about trying to erase marks overnight and more about being consistent with brightening care and sun protection. Glow Recipe gives me a vitamin C-focused step, Beauty of Joseon protects my skin during the day, and The Ordinary adds azelaic acid to the routine.
One important distinction: dark marks left after acne can respond to topical skincare, while indented or raised acne scars are structural changes that usually require professional treatment rather than skincare alone.
